Hardeman County school system bus driver Jimmie Lee Robertson was recently inducted into the Tennessee School Bus Hall of Fame. Mr. Robertson currently drives bus 55, serving Bolivar Elementary, Bolivar Middle and Bolivar Central High School. Mr. Robertson has been driving a school bus for 50 years, starting his career in 1966. Mr. Robertson was inducted into the Hall of Fame on June7th, at the Tennessee Association of Pupil Transportation President’s Awards Dinner in the Symphony Hall at the Music Road Hotel Convention Center in Pigeon Forge. Mr. Robertson was one of three bus drivers who were inducted this year into the Hall of Fame, which began inductions in 2013.
On June 14th, the Hardeman County Board of Education recognized Mr. Robertson for this honor and presented him a plaque for his outstanding service to the students and communities of Hardeman County.
Mr. Robertson was born in Whiteville, TN. and attended Allen White High School. He and his wife of 52 years, Hertha Robertson, have four daughters and four grandchildren. Mr. Robertson is a retired employee from Nat T. Winston Developmental Center, sings with his church choir, has served on the Whiteville Board of Aldermen and is a member of the Prince Hall Masons and the Shriners.
