Tommy Curtis was honorably discharged from United States Marine Corp in 1968.  He wanted something more challenging than being a marine in the late 60s, so he decided to be a bus driver!

His father, Raymond Curtis, had school bus contracts with Monroe County Schools at that time, and that began a father/son business that would span over 50 years.

Tommy mostly drove for the Vonore area schools, and was a fixture as not only a route driver, but also on athletic trips.  He drove for many, many years taking the former Vonore High School on all of their football, baseball, and basketball trips all over East Tennessee.

In August, Thomas will begin his 54th year behind the wheel doing what he loves – delivering children safely to and from school and driving athletic trips that make so many good memories that last a lifetime for students.
